Prayer Ministry

We invite all members of Oak Ridge Baptist Church to actively participate in Prayer Ministry.

Spending time communicating with God is an essential part of a personal relationship with Him. And, as Jesus and His disciples modeled, it is also a key activity for the Body of Christ to pray together.

10 Ways I Can Participate in Prayer Ministry!

1. Attend Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting at 6:15PM to intercede on behalf of church members and women at Nueces County Jail .
2. Attend Praying Church, our periodic Prayer and Worship event to come together as the Body of Christ
3. Submit a Prayer Request via the Sunday Sunday  Bulletin or complete a request form for the Prayer Room.
4. Give Public Praise for Answered Prayers by adding a completed Praise Card to the Prayer Room Wall. Seeing how God answers prayer may be an encouragement for others.
5. Add Fasting to Your Prayer Life as set by Biblical example.
6. Personal Intercessory Prayer by visiting Prayer Room to view and pray for written requests from church members and ministry areas.
7. Utilize Free Prayer Resources provided in Prayer Room plus online links on this web page.
8. Group Prayer reservation of Prayer Room. Your Sunday School class, ministry area, family or friends may reserve this quiet, comfortable location for your prayer gathering.
9. Request a Prayer Partner via the sign-up sheet in Prayer Room or the link provided on this web page.
10. Participate in National Day of Prayer activities both at ORBC and in the community.

Praying for Our Community

What is it? A collaborative prayer effort of many churches, many believers to pray for every household—by name. Imagine it. What might God do?

Why pray for neighbors?
In a typical community–with 100 average neighbors–here’s reality: 7 struggle with depression & thoughts of suicide
7 more abuse or are addicted to drugs or alcohol
14 more are crippled with fear & anxiety 60 don’t know Jesus Christ as Savior.

How do I get involved? It’s simple! Sign up online as a Praying Neighbor.
Your neighbor list is immediately displayed. Pray for 5 neighbors a day using the daily prayer prompt.

Join other believers in prayer. Sign up to pray.
